I have chronic lower back pain and have been thinking of massage therapy. A chiropractor is out of the question no way will I go anywhere near them.. but how can somebody rubbing their elbows on your sore back really do anything?

Massage Therapy for severely autistic son?
My sixteen year old has been responding really well to massage therapy. After a session, he really relaxes. He gets a professional massage about once a week, but strangely, he seems to like MY massages better he's more relaxed when I give him a massage while we're on the couch, rather than his professional massage therapist who takes care of him, usually. He seems to like scalp, shoulder, and neck massages best. Since he prefers my massages, I was wondering, are there any massage techniques I can use that may help him? Any special oils for massage? Also, could you suggest some alternative calming techniques that I can use on him? Thanks

Just wondering if the hours and schooling I have done for massage therapy count towards my schooling and hours in Canada. Or do i have to basically restart it all in Canada? Any links would be great as well for the answer to this question. Thanks.
